I rolled back from SUSE to Mandriva 2010.2, due to the difficulty to work with Gnome3.
I have installed SalomeMeca 2012.2 and ran "postinstall.sh", but the application fails to start:

[sti@cad9 SALOME-MECA-2012.2-LGPL]$I have installed both lib64omniorb-4.1.4 and python-omniorb-3.4. My current python release is: 2.6.5.

I have "solved" switching to CentOS 6.3, that comes with Gnome 2.3. :-)
