The piece represents the quarter of a disk with a hole. The two vertical and horizontal axis modelizes symmetry. A radial pressure stress is applied. The propagation of a crack is studied. At the beginning of the simulation, the crack is located along the horizontal edge and is opened from the outside. Then, boundary elements are relaxed. The extreme point of the crack goes to the inlet. |
Along adaptations, the refined zone follows the evolution of the crack. It is localized where more accuracy is needed for the calculation.
