salome_meca 2019 under LGPL license is available for download

The new salome_meca 2019 under LGPL license is available for download.

This 2019 version integrates the following products:

  • SALOME 9.3.0 ;
  • code_aster stable (version 14.4) ;
  • AsterStudy ;
  • Salome-Meca plugins : CABRI ;
  • code_aster translator ;
  • astk.


  • Uncompress the file and launch the install:
tar xvf salome_meca-2019.0.1-1-LGPL.tgz && ./salome_meca-2019.0.1-1-LGPL.run

This installer installs salome_meca in the directory of your choice (note that the directory path must not contain accents) and automatically creates a shortcut on your desktop from which you can start salome_meca.

  • Launch salome_meca 2019:
cd appli_V2019.0.1_univ

New features

This version integrates AsterStudy 2019.0.1. This new version of the module is a major evolution, the main new features are:

  • a new tab named Results for easy post-processing;
  • a graphical summary of an analysis showing the involved parts of the model;
  • link with Openturns to define a "parametric" study and export it to Openturns;
  • possibility to continue with a graphic stage after a text stage (adding a concept editor in text mode) ;
  • support of remote databases.

Supported Linux distributions

This version has been tested with the following 64bits Linux distributions:

  • Ubuntu 16.04;
  • Debian 8 and 9.

The following versions are supported by installing prerequisites (see the dedicated section):

  • Ubuntu 18.04 and later;
  • Redhat 7 and derivatives (CentOS, Scientific Linux).

Instructions for installing prerequisites for some distributions

Ubuntu 18.04

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-toolchain-r/test
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install gcc-4.9 g++-4.9

Install salome_meca 2018.

Redhat 7 and derivatives (CentOS, Scientific Linux)

Download the sources of gcc-4.9.2 and compile it:

yum install libmpc-devel mpfr-devel gmp-devel
tar xvfj gcc-4.9.2.tar.bz2
cd gcc-4.9.2
./configure --disable-multilib --enable-languages=c,c++
make -j 4
make install

Install salome_meca 2018.

Make a link in the installation:

cd $HOME/salome_meca/V2018.0.1_public/prerequisites/debianForSalome/lib
ln -s /usr/local/lib64/libstdc++.so.6
