Th problem is that the default python in your system points to Python3.
Try to follow the advices I gave in another post (not the one telling to edit the .run file, this was a completely silly idea from my part but rather the one with the temporary modifications of the PATH* variables).

As explained by Konyaro, it is impossible to apply only pressure to a 2D model without blocking the rotational degree of freedom (with the center node, you are only blocking X and Y translations but in two 2D, there are three rigid body movements).

One solution would also be to use a LIAISON_ELEM=‘2D_POU’ linking a 2D_DIS_TR discrete element with for example an edge of the triangle transformed into a rectangle (e.g. replace the summit of the triangle with an edge of the rectangle whose center coincides with the discrete element).
The rotational stiffness of the discrete element must be input accordingly to your physical model. That’s this rotational stiffness that will mainly determine the rotation of the structure when submitted to the pressure.

Unfortunately, imposing such a non-linear relation would require to plug it directly into the source code as a non-linear relation between degrees of freedom would require it to be derivated so as to build an efficient tangent matrix. Otherwise, the non-linear algorithm is unlikely to converge.

Currently only linear relations may be imposed manually. There exists some non-linear relations that are dedicated to a special purpose such as LIAISON_SOLIDE.

You should try to define your non-linear relation « mechanically » if possible e.g. With contact or unilateral relation.

The meaning of each command is described in the documentation (user part). The link between Fortran subroutines starting with op, te, lc is done through so-called catalogues. These are described in the training material for development pointed to by AsterO’Dactyle.
This training material is quite big and long to read but everything is there: new developers at EDF facilities are taught using this material.

Delving into the source code of code_aster is quite an endeavour and it requires some time. Obviously the project could be better documented but it is a never ending work, especially for an open-source project with limited resources.

We have fixed all the testcases used in training sessions so that they may load faultlessly in AsterStudy.

Unfortunately, this won't be available directly in salome_meca 2018.

Note also that we're thinking of improving the capability of variables in AsterStudy so that they may be used in inline formulas.

Les tests de code_aster ont de nombreux statuts suivant les résultats de l'exécution :
- OK

- NOOK_TEST_RESU : la vérification du cas-test a échoué sur une grandeur de référence, il faut creuser mais cela peut soit signaler un problème d'installation soit être toléré
- ERROR : le cas-test a échoué avant même la fin de l'exécution : idem que précédemment.

This is no existing feature to introduced joint elements directly, e.g. in SALOME/Mesh GUI.
However SALOME/Mesh scripting features enable that but you would need to code it yourself.

Note also that HOMARD had such a feature added if I'm not mistaken. It is not available directly in MACR_ADAP_MAIL but may be used with HOMARD standalone and possibly through the HOMARD module in SALOME.

Hello,

In this case, it tends to conform that the need for 3D graphics support in the latest SALOME versions is increased compared to the previous ones.

There are several reports on the forum of failed attempts that were solved by installing newer graphics card or the official drivers for the already installed graphics card.
With a VM, there is an additional difficulty related to the support of the 3D graphics towards the guest OS.

Please try exactly what was proposed that is to remove the libstdc++ files in the salome_meca 2018 installation:

Regarding your problem, this is a known issue referenced in the embedded help of AsterStudy:

POST_RELEVE_T command

During the edition of the POST_RELEVE_T command, the link with the mesh is not activated until the modifications of the ACTION factor keyword or the whole command are validated.

Have you applied the required filters to display Gauss point-wise fields ? That is

Filters > Mechanics > ELGA Field to ...

filling the dots with whatever filter is best suited for you :
- display as a discrete field with Point Sprite/Point Gaussion depending on your use of 2017 or 2018 version ;
- display as a scalar map with Surface.

Comme conseillé par Jean-Pierre, évitez toute utilisation de la commande "sudo". Les droits d'administration devraient être réservés aux tâches d'administration.

Vous pouvez installer code_aster sur votre compte utilisateur par un simple :

python setup.py install --aster_root=mon_chemin_a_moi

Cela sera plus sûr pour la suite.

This is indeed a known issue in AsterStudy that is linked to the locale settings of your OS.
If by any chance some weekdays in your native language contain non ASCII characters (e.g. lørdag or søndag),  Python will fail to output the timestamp.

I've been unable to reproduce the slowdown, in the big steel structure, the time needed to add all the face groups is identical in 2017.0.2 and 2018 (approx. 30s on my computer).
On the smaller structure, it is almost instantaneous.

I do admit though that the GUI is little bit slow, I'll therefore pass the information to the SALOME team on this aspect.
Still, since a new geometry module is about to replace the existing one, I'm not sure this will be a priority.
