Hi, this post is not a technical information but more a user information.

I found this post when searching on Google about CARMEL (there's not a lot) and I would like to know what are the update on this topic.

Is it an open source code and is it possible to download the Code_CARMEL as we can do for ASTER?

Enfin, des travaux ont récemment été lancés en partenariat avec EDF sur la modélisation des vibrations mécaniques au niveau des cages de développantes des stators de turbo-alternateurs. Du fait de la géométrie particulière de la structure, et notamment des têtes de bobines, la modélisation tridimensionnelle multiphysique est complexe. L’approche proposée consiste à mettre en place le couplage de plusieurs codes existants et reconnus, traitant chacun un problème « monophysique », de manière à résoudre séquentiellement les problèmes magnétique (code Carmel) et mécanique (code Aster). Le transfert de grandeurs entre les codes passe par une méthode de projection sur les maillages.

So there's a way of coupling it. Or will it be possible directly in the Aster code?

Hi,

Chaining code by exchanging physical fields is always the first step and can be achieved for,several physical codes with Code_Aster using a projection when required.
Coupling is different and usually require more theoritical work and development.

Regarding Code_Carmel, I'm not able to answer your question, you should contact the development team by using the website : http://code-carmel.univ-lille1.fr/

Thanks for your answer. I'm still interested by this topic as well. I tried to contact the code carmel center within the web adress you shared, but there is no "contact area" on the site. Maybe within the L2EP? You may have a project manager name to share?
