Hi everybody!
I just downloaded and installed SM2017 under Opensuse. Everythings looks right but the contextual menu (Right-click Mouse Button on the tree) does not appear. The menu is actually there but it is not shown; if you select an option where the menu is supposed to be, you are clicking on something.
The only message I get in the Terminal after RMB clicking is the following message reporting a problem with some font:
TKOpenGl | Type: Error | ID: 0 | Severity: High | Message:
Font 'Times-Bold' is broken or has incompatible format! File path: /usr/share/fonts/texlive-lm/ds=y:lmmono10-regular.otf
I would appreciate any help to solve this issue.
Regards
Pablo
PS: The two systems I installed SM2017 are
1) Opensuse Leap 42.2 64bit. Notebook Samsung, Intel i5-3317U and Intel Video Driver
2) Opensuse Leap 42.2 64bit. Desktop, Intel i7-6700 and NVIDIA GTX 285 with proprietary drivers

Hello TdS,
Thank you for your reply. I have already seen that post and checked the permissions. It does not seems to be a permissions issue. I started the new Aster-Study module and I can see the contextual menu. So, it seems to be a Salome issue.
I am downloading Salome-8.3.0 directly from salome-platform.org to check if the problem persists there.
Regards
Pablo
UPDATE: I dowloaded and installed Salome-8.2.0 using the universal linux installer. I still get the the font issue "Font 'Times-Bold' is broken o..." but the contextual menu appears and is functional. I failed to install Salome-8.3.0 since there is not an universal installer, yet. It seems to be a problem in either Salome-8.3.0 or Salome-meca 2017.
UPDATE 2: Today I installed Salome-8.3.0 using the universal linux installer. The contextual menu works well, as in the 8.2.0 version. So, there should be some issue with the salome bundled in SM-2017. I would like to help in solving this issue, but I do not have the knowledge.

Hi
Same problem here as well. I cannot right click and get a menu in the GEOM module, however I can in the Asterstudy module.
Normally I would think it was something to do with the display driver in Linux/X/KDE, but nvidia and opengl is installed and works well otherwise.
There are no warnings or output in the terminal.
This is on OpenSUSE Leap 42.3 on KDE with NVidia closed source drivers.
Let me know if anyone figures it out

Hi everybody!
I am still trying to solve the contextual menu issue.
I thought It was related with a compatibility issue with the python installed with opensuse 42.2. I followed the solution proposed by Pascal Ghielens in its post: https://code-aster.org/forum2/viewtopic … 447#p52447 Sadly the solution does not work
In the search of identifying the problem I found that the first level contextual menu is not shown while the second one is shown as usual. I attached a screenshot showing this behavior. To reproduce it I followed this steps
1) Create a single point at the origin
2) Right click over that point
3) In the bottom-left corner the item description is shown for the "invisible" menu
4) For some items there is a second menu which it is shown as usual.
I hope this helps for solving this issue. The new AsterSudy module looks pretty nice and I feel I'm missing somethig very helpful.

Pablo

Hi
I can confirm that the context menu is not working with Opensuse 42.3 with NVIDIA proprietary drivers. As reported by Claws
Any guess about what is the problem? I would like to help solving this, but I do not known what to do.

Hi everybody!
I can confirm that this issue is still present in version 2017.0.1 under the system configuration I posted earlier.

Hi,
I've experience similar problems on Ubuntu 14.04 installations of Salome-Meca 2017. This is likely an incompatibility between SALOME and some graphical drivers.
I'd suggest that you try with the standalone version of SALOME (e.g. SALOME 8.3 available from http://www.salome-platform.org) and if the problem is confirmed, you should post on the SALOME forum (at the same location).

Hi TdS,
I also thought that the problem was related with Salome and the graphic card. I downloaded the standalone Salome 8.3.0 and the contextual menu works as expected. So, the issue is in the Salome bundled with SalomeMeca2017.
Please, let me known if I can help in solving this issue.

I had the same problem and it is possible to fix this by installing both salome and salome-meca and copying all files in /opt/salome/appli_V8_3_0/lib/salome/ to /opt/salome_meca/appli_V2017.0.2/lib/salome/. Works like a charm.

Thanks a lot for your feedback and for pointing this out. We'll look into it to see what is going wrong in the Salome-Meca installation.
