postprocess without re-running the whole analysis

While doing analysis for a file, I forgot to add some post processing command for data extraction (it took about 20 minutes to solve). Is it possible to rerun for the post-processing only? I mean just extract the data to output file such as reaction and displacement instead of running the solver from zero?

Re: postprocess without re-running the whole analysis

Hello,
with Asterstudy:
The first analysis must have been done with "Reusable" in order to keep the base.

1-2) Add a new stage with the post-processing
3-4) Run only the new stage

Asterstudy poursuite

Seems it has been depreciated in 2018. (ref: code-aster.org/V2/doc/default/en/man_u/u4/u4.11.03.pdf)

Re: postprocess without re-running the whole analysis

@konyaro
I tried. But the post-processing stage (3 in your figure)  doesnot run independently because both stages get selected. When I try to deselect stage 1, the stage 2 also gets deslected. How to deselect stage1 only?

Re: postprocess without re-running the whole analysis

You must click on stage 2 only. If it doesn't work that means you didn't save the base of the first analysis (Reusable) and that the results of the first stage don't exist anymore.

Re: postprocess without re-running the whole analysis

@konyaro: You are right but there is a small bug perhaps. In aster study, the "Reusable" checkmark appears checked by default while running the analysis but infact it is not checked during execution. We need to uncheck and recheck it again.

Thanks.

Re: postprocess without re-running the whole analysis

How about extracting results from file which have terminated before full execution (for example 22 of 100 steps get executed and remaining do not execute due to convergence problem or time limit)?

Re: postprocess without re-running the whole analysis

Hello,

The commands DEBUT, FIN and POURSUITE are "deprecated" in the AsterStudy field because the new version of code_aster (maybe 15) use a real Python module (with from code_aster import *)
These commands are kept for compatibility reasons but will no longer be necessary in future versions
