Testcase fail to run SDNL102a

Dear all,

I am trying to run a test case in order to understand how the "wind" force is applied to the cable structure. but it could not run successfully.
I think this may because one of the .med files is missed. So the FCXV function cannot be accomplished.

Do anyone could successfully run this test case on your computer?

You are correct. Seems the files are missing.

Re: Testcase fail to run SDNL102a

Not every test case is prepared with mesh in med file format. SDNL102a uses the ASTER mesh format. You can find the mesh in file sdnl102a.mail. Also in comm file is this file used in MAVENT=LIRE_MAILLAGE(FORMAT="ASTER",UNITE= 32).

What a pity. That some of the test cases are not complete.

Thank you for your reply. I have checked the data Files, and it did not find any mesh file for UNITE=32. (see the below figure)

Re: Testcase fail to run SDNL102a

ello

i must point out that this test case sdnl102a is one of the most complicated in the code_aster library

i suggest you all read the document v05.02.102 carefully
and the come up with questions

for this problem we have
the command file sdnl102a.comm
the mesh in aster format sdnl102a.mail
ideas format file depicting the wind field in space and time
sdnl102a.30
sdnl102a.38

unless you can provide this type of ideas  data for your problem
studying this test case is almost a waste of time

may i had that this calculation concerns the response to wing gust of a high tension electrical line

Re: Testcase fail to run SDNL102a

Dear all,
Thank you for your kindly reply.
Here is how I set this case in ASTK and the results in paravis.
If there is any problem I made in the setting, please share your advice. I am still a newbie in this software.
Best regards,
Hui Cheng

Re: Testcase fail to run SDNL102a

the example .export file is provided with the .comm and .mail files in the test case directory
if you do not follow this .export the problem will obviously not work
though the .mess should be quite explicit about what is going wrong

this line should not be there
F libr /home/hui/codeasterWorkspace/testcase/ASTK/sdnl102a.32 R 32
this one will hardly do anything as there is no med output written down in the .comm file
F rmed /home/hui/codeasterWorkspace/testcase/ASTK/sdnl102a.rmed R 80

i have just checked the problem runs fine on a stand alone code_aster

if you want to tackle with problem of this complexity i strongly suggest you swich to stand alone code_aster
