Regarding offline access to documentation from ASTERSTUDY

Dear All,
1. Salome_meca has nice feature of accessing the documentation while preparing the comm file using AsterStudy module.
2. By default, clicking the documentation icon directs to the appropriate online documentation  webpage/ pdf file..
3. However, since the documentation is downloadable for offline reading, I was wondering if this offline documentation folder could be accessed from the AsterStudy GUI.
4. It seems, it is possible to change this default behaviour by changing the Preference in the AsterStudy module.
5. However, when I tried to change the AsterStudy documents from the webpage to my local repository, it was unable  to load any document.
6. Is there any other way to achieve the same?

Thanks and Best regards.
Sukumar.

Re: Regarding offline access to documentation from ASTERSTUDY

Dear Community

Can we access a local repository of  code-aster documentation from AsterStudy GUI?
May I have some reply on the above. Please excuse me if this question is trivial for many of you.

With best regards.

Re: Regarding offline access to documentation from ASTERSTUDY

It is possible with minimal changes in the settings. Moreover, the downloaded documentation need to be arranged in proper subdirectories. Here is one example scenario :

Open LIRE_MAILLAGE document using AsterStudy. You can see that the url for the document is :

https :// www.code-aster.org/doc/ v14/en/man_u/u4/u4.21.01.pdf

Here, everything beyond /doc/ is important. So in your local repository, the corresponding document should have directory structure as

<something>/v14/en/man_u/u4/u4.21.01.pdf

<Something> will be place where your documents are located, like /home/username/CADocs.

Now in Salome_Meca > File > Preferences > AsterStudy in Documentation - Website change to <something>.

Important thing is to maintain the directory structure below /doc/, else it wont work.

Hope this helps.

Just to point out explicitly, the directory structure will vary depending upon the type of document.

Dear Digvijay,

Thanks a lot for your reply.

Right now I am not having access to any system with Salome-Meca installed. I will try the way you explained asap.

Best regards.
